Brentino 2005 – Maculan

Brentino - Maculan

Brentino - Maculan

I bought  this bottle in a wine of Modena (Giorgi Renzo, Via Giardini 392) and I can only agree with this review found on the web:

… Place it among the twenty wines that I consider “essential” and “well done” at a low price. This blend of Merlot 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% product on gravelly soils and tuffaceous hills in Breganze (Vicenza) from Maculan, is what they say a wine free from intense ruby red color with garnet tones slightly. He has an intense, fruity, balsamic vinegar, with hints of wood and light ink reminders. In the mouth it is warm, with a body balanced and persistent …

Add that we perceive hints of tobacco. Half the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, the other half in stainless steel.

I paid, discounted by 20%, less than 7 euros.

I hear very well about “Torcolato”,  same  company: Maculan (http://www.maculan.net).
